Throughout the year, cadets have the opportunity to play sports - representing us at a local level with the chance to progress to national level competitions. Like sports, adventure training encourages the spirit of teamwork and offers something unique to the air cadet experience.
Our cadets compete in a range of sports:
athletics
swimming
cross country
five-a-side
football
netball
rugby
hockey
Adventure Training (AT) is a useful tool to develop confidence, leadership skills and physical fitness. Air Cadets can have the opportunity to take part in rock climbing, hillwalking, kayaking, moutaing biking and much more. Whilst currently limited by lack of instructors on the staff at Hawarden Air Cadets, we often team up with neighbouring squadrons for AT days - though some of our own staff are in the process of obtaining climbing qualifications. Annually, cadets from around No 2 Welsh Wing have the chance to take part in the Wing AT week held at the National Air Cadet Adventure Training Centre (NACATC) Windermere. The video below from 1465 (Gwynedd) Sqn provides a brief insight into activities during the week.
