Being parented by the Royal Air Force offers our members the opportunity to experience life on an RAF station. Visits to RAF stations are also frequent events, whether for sports, flying or visits to operational units. We also welcome regular visits from outside speakers during squadron parade nights as part of our monthly training programme.
One of the premier events in the Air Cadets' calendar is annual camp where cadets spend a week on one of the RAF stations around the UK - taking part in a full range of cadet activities as well as the opportunity to explore the station. Cadets and staff eat, sleep and breathe life in the RAF for a week gaining fantastic experiences along the way.
Having attended at least one camp in the UK and reaching the age of 15, there may also be the chance to head overseas on camp - to Cyprus or Gibraltar - or other countries around the world as part of the International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE). In recent years, our cadets have been lucky enough to represent the RAF Air Cadets on the IACE to France, Canada and Sweden, with the USA and Australia always high on preference lists!
